On March 1, 2014 our Licensee, Debbie took another leap of faith to expand to a new location. Since joining this location there have been so many positive changes. Immediately this center became an award winning childcare. We have been honored by the ongoing praise & these awards have been incredibly meaningful to our team.

Our Team of Educators
Did you know that in 2007 the Ontario Government passed the Early Childhood Educators Act? This law established the College of Early Childhood Educators. The Act includes definitions of practice, requirements for members to practise, Title Protection for use of the terms such as “Early Childhood Educators” as well as roles of the Registrar, Registration Appeals, Complaints, Discipline etc. Learn more about the qualifications of Early Childhood Educators at www.college-ece.ca We work to match candidates with their ideal age grouping and team partners. Once hired they are required to participate in regular professional learning. 30% of our staff attend a training every two months. Every Little Kids Daycare employee has a valid First Aid/CPR certificate, clear vulnerable sector check and safe Food Handler Certification. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful team! Staff consistency is REALLY DIFFICULT in childcare! We want to devote some time to highlight & praise our Senior Staff (over 1 year)

ECA, Toddler Class
Joined Little Kids Kingsridge Family in 2014 Kathy completed her Early Childhood Assistant Diploma in the 90’s. Over the years she has worked with infants and toddlers. Kathy started her journey with the Little Kids Family on Grosvenor St. She is nurturing & caring towards each child. Her daughters are all grown up so she really loves having the opportunity to connect with little ones.
Erica
RECE, SR Preschool Class
Joined Little Kids Kingsridge Family in 2017 Erica is a Registered Early Childhood Educator who works in our SR preschool Class. She plans and implements activities to prepare the children for school entry. She has a wonderful relationship with each of her children.

Cook
Joined Little Kids Kingsridge Family in 2017 Miss. Helena is our BELOVED Cook, She prepares all of our meals everyday. Helena fusses over the chidren and their meals to make sure they have a full tummy. Helena’s Granddaughter attended our center from infancy to PRE K. Her daughter worked as a supply staff while she was in college to complete her EA diploma. We had 3 generations all under one roof!

RECE, JR Preschool Class
Joined Little Kids Kingsridge Family in 2019 Julie is an incredible RECE in our JR Preschool Class. She brings many years of knowledge & experience as a homecare provider. Julie provides an incredible curriculum to the children in her care. She is incredibly kind and nurturing, we are so grateful to have her on our team!
Jordana
RECE, Toddler CLass
Joined Little Kids Kingsridge Family in 2019 Jordana is a Registered Early Childhood Educator in our Toddler class. She is very sweet and loving towards each child in her care. Jordana also follows the children’s interest in her daily programming. She is always smiling and giggling!

Little Kids Daycare is proud to participate in the Quality First. Quality First is an initiative within Halton Region that supports early childhood programs to further develop the level of quality care, and education they offer to young children & their families.

As a result of our involvement in Quality First, our staff participate in various trainings/workshops & webinars every few months!
Our center is supported through an ongoing process which includes: observations & evaluation fo the program, self evaluation, goal setting, staff professional learning & support from a Consultant. Commitment to quality is an ongoing process.
Quality Map Pilot
Across Halton Region only 18 centers were invited to participate in this initiative. We were thrilled to join this important research! This new approach to assessing quality in Halton Region’s ELCC sector will have a qualitative approach to assessing quality. It aligns with “How Does Learning Happen?” & the RECE Code of Ethics. It is built on critical reflection, collaborative inquiry , environment & making quality practices visible (pedagogical documentation).
We have created a Center Portfolio which each class has contributed to the four sections (Children, Families, Educators & Community)
