Our Staff

We pride ourselves on employing some of the best graduates and assistants in the field. 

When hiring, we make sure these individuals not only meet the educational and previous work experience standards, but that first and foremost, they love what they do.  Working with children can be challenging and yet very rewarding.  These are the principals that we ensure each of our staff members share in order to create a comforting and stimulating experience for every child in our care.

Our Supervisors

Debbie is our Supervisor at the daycare centre.  She has been with us since the day we opened September 7th 2002.
Debbie has received her Early Childhood Education, as well as, Child & Youth Worker diplomas.  She has a profound love for every child that is in our centre. She works very hard to ensure that the staff, parents, and children are always happy.

Morag is the assistant supervisor at the centre.  She has been at Little Kids Daycare Center since 2004 teaching in our Nursery and School Age Programs.  She has blessed us all with her wisdom, kindness and humor.

Toddler Program

Doris is one of our Toddler Room teachers.  She has been with Little Kids Daycare since fall 2007.  Doris is one of our most dedicated staff members.  She is reliable, friendly and is wonderful with our toddlers.  Doris is very calm and patient, and is a benefit to the program.

Santosh completed a practicum with us in 2007 and was so enjoyable we asked her to join our team upon her graduation.  She is working in our Toddler Room and excels on all levels.  Santosh creatively plans and implements stimulating activities for our toddlers class.

Holly graduated from Sheridan College's Early Childhood Education program in 2008; she also has achieved her Personal Support Worker diploma. She is such an energetic  person!  Holly is always tickling and hugging the toddlers. She is very nurturing when interacting with the children, and excels in creatively developing the programming for her class. Holly has very strong communication skills and always shares important aspects of the children's day with his/her parents.

Junior Program

Jennifer graduated with Honors from the Early Childhood Education program in April 2008. She has a wonderful level of energy and excitement which she brings to the children everyday.
Jennifer is committed to promoting a safe and healthy environment for her class.  The children and parents have only wonderful things to say about her.

Jasmina has a degree in English Literature from Macedonia (1998). She was a high school professor before moving to Oakville from her native country. Her passion for children brought her to the Early Childhood Education field.
She has a very kind and warm nature when dealing with the children. Jasmina always has a friendly smile and a warm embrace for each child, especially newer ones who need the extra TLC.

Lisa graduated from Sheridan's ECE program in June 2000.  She has been a wonderful teacher in our Junior class since 2008.  Lisa is naturally friendly with an upbeat personality.  Her calmness and natural warmth towards the children are her most obvious strengths.  She is very passionate about helping children grow and thrive in the early years of their lives by providing them with various learning opportunities.  We are very lucky to have her.

Senior Program

Nicole P has been our Senior Teacher since February 2007.  She received her Early Childhood Education diploma in 2006. 
Nicole works to ensure that her classroom programming closely reflects that of a Kindergarten Program.  The children who are in Nicole’s class also benefit from her constant hugs and kisses and fun loving nature.

Nicole H received her Early Childhood Education diploma from Candore College in 2007. She recently moved here from North Bay and brings with her an intimacy that can only come from growing up in a small town. Nicole is always calm and nurturing towards the children.
She is currently in the process of being certified under the Quality First initiative. This has resulted in her implementing many wonderful activities and projects within her classroom.  We are very lucky to have her!

Kindergarten Program

Tanya is the Early Childhood Educator in our Kindergarten Program.  Tanya received her Early Childhood Education diploma in April 2005.  She has been with Little Kids Daycare since that August in 2005.  Tanya is a very calm and organized teacher.  She loves the children and challenges them daily with her creative programming.  She is one of our greatest resources.

Kristina has worked with Little Kids Daycare since 2003 and continues to be a favorite staff amongst the children. Kristina's role has varied at our center as she's progressed through University. She is young and hip which appeals to all of children. Kristina is fun and outgoing but also very creative. As an artist she encourages the children to explore their creative talents and teaches them about various creative techniques. She devotes a lot of time to planning and developing programming that is stimulating and educational. Many of our school age children have known Kristina since they were preschoolers, this has resulted in a very special relationship between Kristina and most of her class.

Nursery & School Age Programs

Lara has an extensive background both professionally & educationally. In 1994 she completed a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Toronto. She completed her BAA (ECE) at Ryerson Polytechnic University in 1993. Lara has worked as a teacher in Toronto, Clarksville TN & Seoul, Korea. Lara focuses predominantly on preparing her children for school entry by leading various educational lessons. The children regularly work on fine motor development by printing, cutting, pasting, lacing etc. She also teaches the children songs, poems, phonics, numbers and science. Her class is very structured but also allows for each child to work at his/her level.

Our Supply Staff

Tania is one of our star supply staff members!  She received her Early Childhood Education diploma in April 2006 and began working at Little Kids Daycare Centre shortly thereafter.  
Tania can usually be heard singing and actively playing with the children.  Parent comments, and observations of her interactions with all the children are testament to her wacky and very successful ways when working with any age group.

Denise Yeung

Denise has been with Little Kids Daycare Center since she volunteered for us in the summer of 2006. She is a full time student at the University of Toronto where she is working on her Linguistics in English Degree. Denise is a very calm and easy going person who has always enjoyed working with children. Before joining our team, she was a group leader for Summer Sizzlers and Girl Guides. Her relaxed personality allows her to join any class and be loved by all of the children. We are very lucky to have her return to us during her school breaks.

Jennifer Ongaro

Jennifer has been a supply teacher with us since April 2008. She attends Brock University on a full time basis and is completing her degree in Concurrent Education Junior/Intermediate. The children love her bubbly and energetic personality. Jennifer is a genuinely sweet person and we all love working with her.

Our Kitchen Staff

Maria works in our kitchen.  She prepares the meals brought in by the caterers, as well as all daily snacks.  She maintains the kitchen beyond the expected standards, and provides essential support to each of our daycare teachers.
