Junior Room

Room Capacity:  24           Age Ratio:  1:8            Age:  2.5 to 3.8 - 4 yrs

The Junior room is a cheerful, happy place.  Through age appropriate, interactive and individual activities children build confidence and self esteem.  They are provided opportunities to develop appropriate social skills and encouraged positive self-expression in preparation for success in kindergarten. 

During the play/learning times, the teachers will circulate the room observing children and joining in their play. The teachers will periodically sit with a small group of children to complete a teacher-directed activity.

Daily Activities include:

• Gross motor play
• Sensory play

• Dramatic play
• Nature and Science exploration
• Creative Art
• Outdoor play

Learning Centers include:

• Table toys
• Reading center
• Cognitive Enhancement (Jolly Phonics, Memory games, Color/Number Recognition)
